Sir Anthony Knyvett, (also recorded as Knevytt), was born at Buckingham Castle, Norfolk, England and became a gentleman of the royal household.
He was appointed Sheriff of Flint, April 1, 1528 and held the position until 1532.
December 9, 1536, he became "Black Rod", (House of Lords). Sir Anthony kept the position until November 3, 1543.
In 1541, he married Avice Gibson, widow of Nicholas Gibson, (Sheriff of London 1538-9)
